SAFE BOATING th.  Come on down to Flotilla 15-8 located at 4340 Calienta St (corner of Calienta and Shoal Line) from 10-3:00 for free information, various boats on display including the Sheriff’s Dept and FWC, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Department will be there with their Mobile Command Post, various demonstrations, free vessel safety checks and more. Our goal is to make 2008 the safest boating season yet. The Big Events and Extras are first - The full Calendar follows Spring Hill, Florida – May is National Stroke Awareness Month and during this month Oak Hill Hospital is offering free stroke screenings. Stroke screenings include ultrasound stroke screening and blood pressure screening. Screenings are offered Monday through Friday – PM at the hospital, 11375 Cortez Boulevard, Entrance C. Florida Cancer Institute-New Hope to Hold Leukemia/Lymphoma Support Group Spring Hill, Florida – Florida Cancer Institute–New Hope will hold its Leukemia/Lymphoma Support Group on at 5 PM. The Group meets the fourth Tuesday of every month from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Florida Cancer Institute-New Hope’s Spring Hill Center located at 10441 Quality Dr Suite 203 in the Medical Arts Building next to Spring Hill Hospital. Topics that are frequently discussed are: the importance of early detection, signs and symptoms of leukemia-lymphoma, prognosis, disease stages, the various treatment options, and especially the latest research and treatment modalities. Florida Cancer Institute in New Port Richey to Hold Bi-Weekly Breast Cancer Support Group Meeting   New Port Richey, Florida – The Florida Cancer Institute has announced that its New Port Richey center will host its regular breast cancer support group meeting on Thursday, The group meets every other Thursday. The meeting will be held in the New Port Richey center at 8763 River Crossing Boulevard, New Port Richey, Florida. There will be an open discussion with the group on topics of interest. Anyone who has been touched by breast cancer is invited to attend, not just Florida Cancer Institute patients. Family members are also encouraged to attend. HADASSAH”S SUMMER HAPPENING’S This summer, the Pasco County Chapter of Hadassah is planning some wonderful activities “just for the fun of it”. These outings are planned to have fun and to get to know each other better. We hope to capture something of everyone’s interest. On Tuesday, July 22, we will meet at 11:00 am at the Leepa -Ratner Museum for a docent led tour and then lunch, of course On Tuesday, August 12 we will be travelling to the Holocaust Museum in St. Petersburg. We will car pool to these events and the only cost will be admission, lunch, and chipping in for gas and tolls. Also, over the summer, we will be reading “Kaaterskill Falls’ by Allegra Goodman.
